IF QBO preference is defaulted to tax exclusive you need to post transactions to Uncat including HST if applicable. Otherwise, when you edit the expense account it will add HST to the total amount of the transaction, thereby overstating the transaction.
I would like Uncat to add the option to set the transaction as tax inclusive or exclusive rather than defaulting to what the preference is in QBO because this is something that can be overridden in QBO if need be. You also get a warning in QBO before posting a transaction that is higher in value than the matched transaction, which does not happen if you post from Uncat.
Other applications (ie. DEXT, hubdoc etc.) have this option to select tax inclusive vs. exclusive regardless of what the preferred setting in QBO is.
